You can withdraw your available funds from your Stake account at any time.
Please remember that only settled cash can be withdrawn. This means any unsettled deposits, recent transfers, or money from your sell orders need to clear first. This usually can take 1 to 2 business days.
The minimum withdrawal amount is US$10.
Transfers can only go from Stake to your local bank account, which must also be in your name. Before you make your first withdrawal, you'll need to provide your local bank details.
How do I make a withdrawal?
- On the Stake app, head to your Manage > Balances > Withdraw – or if you’re on the web, select the Wallet icon > Withdraw
- Enter the withdrawal amount in NZD and select the receiving bank account
- To add a new or different receiving account, select Edit account and follow the prompts (please note, the name on the receiving account must still match the name of the Stake account owner)
- You'll receive an estimated summary of your withdrawal request
- Verify the withdrawal with the unique PIN sent to your email, mobile number or via an authenticator app
- Confirm your withdrawal request
Available funds and reserved cash
Only funds that show as ‘Available for withdrawal’ can be withdrawn. This means that you won't be able to withdraw funds that are reserved for:
- Pending buy orders (i.e. any active order you have to buy stocks)
- Unsettled funds from a deposit or share sale (sell orders)
Timeframes
Please allow up to 4 business days for your withdrawal to arrive in your local bank account. Any issues, please reach out to the Stake Support Team with a copy of your withdrawal details.
Can I withdraw my funds to multiple bank accounts?
For the enhanced security of your funds, you can only have one bank account linked to your Stake account at any given time. This measure helps us maintain a secure and compliant environment for all our customers by minimising potential risks associated with multiple active linked accounts.
While you can only have one active linked account, you do have the flexibility to change it. To link a new bank account, you can delete your current linked bank account, and once it's successfully removed, you'll be able to securely add and verify your new bank account details.
Things to consider:
- It's essential that you enter the correct bank account details to ensure your withdrawal gets processed correctly and without delay. If you think you've entered incorrect details, please reach out to the Stake support team here.
- All withdrawals must be in NZD; Stake does not support USD withdrawals.
- Please ensure that the name on the nominated account for the withdrawal matches your Stake account. We are unable to process withdrawals to third-party accounts.
- To ensure the security of your funds, we have extra verification methods in place on withdrawals and may contact you or request extra information. These checks are to ensure that your withdrawal details are correct and to prevent any fraud attempts on your account.
- Stake is not liable for monetary loss resulting from incorrect information being entered in the withdrawal process (as per our Terms & Conditions). If money is credited to the wrong account, we cannot guarantee its recovery.
- The time taken for funds to arrive in your account is outside of Stake's control. It is also dependent on payment partners and the incoming bank as well. Stake provides an estimated range for funds landing to manage expectations around the factors influencing payment processing. For various reasons (such as banking partners involved, withdrawal verification checks, and legal regulations), Stake makes no guarantees for the timing of receipt of funds. Stake recommends factoring in possible delays when withdrawing your funds to avoid any inconvenience.
