A Holder Identification Number (HIN) is a unique number issued to you when you open an ASX account with Stake. It identifies you directly with the ASX as the registered owner of any shares you hold on the platform.
Where to find your HIN
You can view your HIN at any time in the Stake app or on the web:
In the app
Go to Manage
Tap Profile
Your HIN is under the Personal details tab
On web
Click your profile icon (the first letter of your name)
Select Overview
Go to Accounts to view your HIN
What is a Full HIN Transfer?
A Full HIN Transfer moves your entire HIN — along with all the shares under it — from another platform to Stake. This allows you to retain the same HIN while transferring full ownership and holdings into your Stake account.
How the process works
Currently, the Stake app only supports standard broker-to-broker share transfers. However, if your total portfolio under the HIN is valued over A$10,000, we can manually process a Full HIN Transfer.
Requirements
Before you start you must have no holdings or open orders under your Stake HIN. This is essential for the transfer to proceed.
If eligible, prepare the following:
-
A completed Broker-to-Broker Transfer Form
Must be wet-ink signed (no digital signatures)
Be sure to select the 245 Message option on the form
Your most recent Holdings Statement (dated within the past 3 months)
Once ready, email your documents to share-transfers@hellostake.com
Our specialist team will guide you through the final verification steps.
